Well after a year wait after Kelty was promised a trip for being potty trained we finally got to go

It was so fun to be there it was Keltys first trip and Mikesie and Teagan dont remember it at all since it has been 4 years since our last visit Everyone went on the Hollywood Tower Hotel and Splash mountain and Space mountain and Soaring over California among the other family friendly rides. Mikesie was big enough to also go on Indiana Jones which she did not like and also she went on California Screamin which was her favorit ride Teagans was the elevator ride aka Hollywood tower of terror and Kelty liked just about everything she went on. It was very funny that we heard of a Teagan and a Kelty while there and the Kelty was a teenager. The lines were not that bad at all the longest wait was 30 min for finding nemo.

Today after confrence we went to the beach to take some pictures. I wanted to get family shots but I left the tri pod in the car and it was very very windy. We had a great time all in all.

Just got back from a 50 mile bike ride with Marhall and Kirk to complete Marshall's merit badge it was awesome although a little slow with three 12 year olds and a 16 year old. Let's here it for the three over 40 year olds that were always waiting on the kids. But it was great all in all

We had such a great time at Ada's celebrating Gma's birthday and celebrating familys. It was so nice to see Alice, Hans and Tonya's familys as well as everyone else who came The kids had so much fun playing with all the cousins that were there well over 20! Here is beautiful Ash Lee on her way to the prom she went with our neighbor that she has know since they were 6 I remember when we moved in and there were 3 boys next door one older than Page and one the same as page and one the same as Ash. We would joke with the parents about them going to prom together little did we know it would happen!

My trip to Utah

This past weekend I went to Utah to take pictures for my friends daughter's wedding at the Jordon River temple it was great. I was able to see Page, Emily and Lauren, James Carlson (a missionary that served here for over a year), Brother and Sister Powell (also missionaries that served here), Sister Raughs daughter Ashley and Marlisse and 3 of her girls. Even on the flight home I saw Brother Hardester (whom I havent seen for over 14 years). It was like a huge reunion for me. I visited my favorite store Cabela's. And even though I had my camera I neglected to take any pictures except for the wedding and reception pictures what a dope. Oh well.

Knee Surgery

Well after a fall from my horse two weeks after getting her. Saddle difficulties, a tip always buy a new saddle. Anyways, after 3 months of rehab to build up the muscles again I finally had knee surgery to replace my ACL (one of the four ligaments in a knee). He did some clean up on my cartilage on the knee cap and some other minor thing than went for the gusto and took out my old ACL and replaced it with a cadavar Achilles tendon and a bone piece from the heel. I know it sound weired but using my own patella tendon was not an option for me wayyyy to much recovery time for that. The Dr said 2 week off the leg with only partial weight bearing with a brace and crutches. Well needless to say I could handle only 3 days of the brace and only about a week of the crutches. So today I went to Scotts Valley and only used the crutches a bit and even drove. I get to see the Dr on tuesday so I will see how things are going.

Snow at the Summit

Last night was cold, really cold and where was lightning and thunder as well. Kirk called at 10:00 in the morning today to tell us there was snow at the summit. Sooo... we got dressed in our snow clothes and drove up there. It was really suprising to see it starting to be on the ground just a mile up Hwy 9. As we got closer and closer to the summit the snow was thicker. About a mile from the summit the snow was falling as well. We stopped at a clear area and had fun building a snow man, making snow angels and had snow ball fight. Teagan loved to eat the snow. Mikensie loved to to make the snow angels and Kelty had fun taking the head off of the snow man. She thought that it was so funny.

Lukes Party

Our neighbor had a little party for the kids that was really fun. We had such a great time playing and decorating pumpkins, and cupcakes. The mom is from Sweden and it was fun to hear that over in Sweden they do not celebate Halloween. But on Easter they have the kids dress up and the girls dress like witches and the boys like wizards and they give out candy to people they also have a big bon fire and fireworks. Kinda like Halloween, and the forth of July for us.

She said that the teenagers are trying to do Halloween over in Sweden but it doesn't translate very well cuz they egg houses that don't give them money. Gives a whole new meaning to Trick or Treat. (give me money or I will thrash your house)

We had our Halloween party this weekend at our ward and it was sooo fun the youth made a great hunted house and there were fun game to play for the little kids. Page came up with her boyfriend Taylor and the Lynchs came up with there kids. We had chili to eat that was so yummy. My leg was still not feeling that great so I was glad Page was there to help out with the little girls.

Are new additions to the family

Here are the pictures of our new family members Anya is the chestnut and Cocoa is the bay on the right with the star. We got them from the Stanford Polo Club and they are just great. We have had two little incedents with them though. In the first week Ash feel when her sturup broke and than last week I feel when my saddle girth broke. I'm still trying to recover. Anyways they are great horses and the kids just love to ride them and pet them.

Kirk went up to the Branson Ranch and limbed some redwood trees for them. That was on monday. Tuesday he went to work and by 12:00 was feeling it come out. By wednesday he was looking like a pug puppy. Poor guy.

P.S. on Sunday Ash Lee and I had delivered our new members of our family at the Branson Ranch ( hint there names are CoCoa and Anya and they have to be at the Bransons)

Ash and I did a splash and dash in Santa Cruz as a prep for the Santa Cruz Sprint that I'm doing in August. It was really exciting to swim in the ocean. That totally different way to swim. It is very challenging. The salt water is very salty,hence the name salt water.Well it was great.

We also went to Hayward to go visit my brother. I ran in a 5k run benfiting the Eden Trama center in San Leandro. I did okay. Mikensie ran in the 50 yard kids dash. She had a great time and enjoyed running,getting a shirt and a goody bag filled with suprises. It was really fun

Kelty figured she was older so she would lead Scarlet around and show her the park. The second picture is Mike pleading for Scarlet's help so he would not fall into the darkness below.

Today we went to Happy Hollow with Mike and Katie and their daughter Scarlet who are visiting and with Ada. We had a blast! It was fun seeing the park after about 9 years since our last visit. It was a first for Mikensie, Teagan and Kelty. They rode on Danny the Dragon. Also the carousals and the police cars and fire trucks. We also visited the zoo area, where we saw a leopard and lemurs . Teagan liked the Wallaby. They all enjoyed the petting zoo with the goats.

It was so nice to visit with Mike, Katie and Scarlet.

Well I have been neglecting to blog lately. But I do have a great excuse. I have been training for a sprint Triathlon that Page and I are going to do next weekend. Well I got the Tri bug and found out about a sprint at Lake Almaden in San Jose so I siezed the moment and thought it would be great to try one at the place I bike at with my dad. Oh My Gosh it was amazing. Okay I could not breath for the first part of the swim all the woman went out at the same time and boy so they bumb and hit and cram into you but I caught my breath at the second half and blew past about 6 woman and 5 men. Then it was off to the bike. That was crazy they took us on parts of the trail I have never seen and up a huge hill that was a KILLER by the top I was going only 2.4 mile an hour the bike was barely staying up. Then it was down hill and onto a small dirt path through a creek and up hills and everything else. Then put the bike away and hit the road after a quick bathroom stop. 3.1 miles later it is over the finish line at an amazing 1:42 I was very pleased that I finished and did so under 2 hours which was what I was hopeing for. Anyways it was great everyone out there is cheering you on it was AMAZING!!

Anyways Ash Lee watched all the little ones for us so we could spend some Mom and Dad time. When we got back at 10:45 Atlas was here to great me with this special message.

I thought that was very cute. Ash Lee also cleaned up after she made me Chocolate chip cookies and even cleaned the living room and the bathroom , it was so great to come home to a clean house and the kids all safe. So special to get this message and cards from Mikensie and Teagan as well. Thank you Ash!

We woke at 4:00 am to Kelty crying. Kirk went in and found her in throw up and she also got the other girls when she got sick. Guess she had too many cookies before we got home last night. Ash said that she had found her pilaging the cookies all by her self (naughty little girl)

Today while getting two more chicks at the feed store I made the mistake lol of letting Ash come with me. About an hour later we lift the store with 2 chicks and one cockatiel. It is really cute though he (or she) likes to sit with Ash Lee and the other kids. Hopefully the dogs and cats will leave it alone.

We found a play house and bought it for a chicken coop. I then went in search of getting chickens to put into it. I could not believe the scarcity of chick right now. I found some on Murray Mc Murry and they would be coming three weeks later that did not please me so I went on a search even more and found some in New Mexico from Privet ranch I have not ordered from them in the past as I have always gotten from Murrary but they had them for this week Wed. What am I going to do with 25 chickens you may ask yourself with 6 kids (5 at home) 2 dogs, 2 cats and one husband? Well some are going to the Porters and some to the Twohigs. As I said chickens are in short supply in our country right now (maybe people are wanting to be more self relient now with the way prices are right now) anyways we look forward to our new additions the following photo is of Page's new additon his name is Stanly. Page came up and helped decorate the house for the chickens.

Today while I was trying to get acquainted with photshop (which did not work well) Mikensie thought she would occupy herself with the dishes and Teagan with the doll house Grandma lent us. Teagan loves to play with doll houses. Kelty has had a fever while I was waiting for it to break and a rash/vomiting/runns to show up it did non of the forementioned and I later in the day saw not one not two but all four eye teeth coming in at the same puffy gumms just cutting through stage. Not fun no wonder why she will not let me enjoy my new additon of photoshop. So Friday it is off to the Drs. to see if she has the suspected ear infections that I think she has. I also washed the persian rug outside by hand and the girls had a blast playing in the bubbles and slipping on the porch.

Mikensie has been putting her bike helmet into her shirt everyday since she saw her cousin Amie over the Easter weekend. So finally today she got her picture taken with her baby in her tummy. I have been called Grandma by Mikensie and Teagan for about a week now and they have been having a blast being pregnant and nursing their babies. I'm not to sure I want to be called Grandma at this time I haven't even turned 39 yet!

This morning I went out to block a path that Jack has been able to sneak out of to go out of the yard and found these cuteies. I brought them in for the kids to see them, Kelty could not understand why she could not hold them though. I felt it better though as she is not to "Gentle" when it come to things. We are working on this though. We then went to church where amazingly Kirk, Teagan, Mikensie, Ash Lee and I all bore our testemonies (this is very rare for me). We left right after Sacrament though to go visit my brother in Hayward and to help him transport a new mattress to his house. For those of you who don't know my brother had renal cancer 10 years ago and just had a cat scan showed a 2 cm cyst on the same kidney and a gal bladder stone. He will see a specialist soon but we feel that he will be fine.We wanted to be with him and help support him in anyway we could. He bought a very nice mattress for the first time in his life and I'm sure he will enjoy it very much.

Monday trip to Plymouth

The cousins always have such a great time together. They had fun going to the horse, jumping on the trampiline, riding bikes, looking at the cow, playing in the water and just hanging out with each other. The adults had fun talking and watching the kids play. All in all every one just loves being together at the Cantrell's home.

I kept telling him to kill it. finally after Mark also told him to kill it he did. I was made for quite some time afterwards

After the Oakland trip we went to Ada and Mike's house for a family BBQ it was so nice to see every one that attended. The Harris family have some very photogenic girls so I had a great time taking some of them. I also had fun with Amie and her tiny belly. She just looks so beautiful pregnant. Today we went to New Brighten beach, it was such a sunny and warm day. We had fun playing in the sand for a bit then we went up to the picnic area where we played at the water faucets and the grass. We saw a male bird and a female bird that was guarding her nest. The male had a berry in his mouth.

Today when we got home from chruch we had a note on our door from our neighbor. She invited us to have some Easter fun. We were able to decorate eggs and hunt for eggs. We even made kites. It was a beautiful day with lots of sunshine and a little wind which was great for the kites.

Well today was a day of saddnes and joy. We asked Page to go ahead and leave home. She has been having some problems lately and yeaterday was the last straw. I am happy for her to see what life is like being 18 (she is at a old friend from church that now lives over the hill) so we know that she is for the most part safe. I am sad because she has made choices that she is responsible for . I am sad because she will not be here at home where I feel for the most part she is safe. So as you can see it is a bittersweet time in my life.

Mikensie turned 5 this evening at 8:04 its so crazy that 5 years have gone by this fast and that she has two other little sisters. When we had Page and Ash and Marshall we never thought we would have three more kids. But much to my urging we had three more girls. We had a wonderful time celebrating her birthday and even had some fireworks to end the day with. In the morning I found a beautiful white moth. It looked like a little snow queen fairy. So I put it in a jar with a note for Mikensie to see in the morning when she woke up ( I went up to the Temple ) when Page woke up with her and the other little girls Page read the note to Mikensie and then they let it free. Unfortunatly I forgot to put the memory card back in the camera so when Page used it to document the event they were not there. AHH. Anyways here is some from having her cake.

This evening we went to the mall to have some play time after being inside for a couple of days due to the rain.It was nice to see the little girls playing around (not trashing the house). The play area was just crawling with little kids. It seems that everyone was tired of being cooped up. You think we would all be trying to get are kids to sleep as this was at 8:30 pm but no way it was much to fun to watch the kids playing.

First park trip of 2008

We had a really nice week last week that was warm and sunny so we took advantage of the nice weather and went to the park in Scotts Valley. It was really nice to get out in the sunshine after so much rain. Luckly we did cuz this week it has been cloudy and raining again. Kelty found this bike and climbed up on it and tried to take it for a spin.

As you can see Page and Ash really love to ham it up (as well as Mikensie) while Teagan just loves to watch wat everyone else is doing

Well today we traveled over to San Jose to get the kids pictures taken. Soo needless to say I thought I might take advantage of the background that they have. Luckly the photographer left right after taking us in to the studio and I seized the moment. I did get caught though and he asked me to delete "that picture" I neglected to do so and also for all the other ones that I had taken.

On Sunday morning Santa left a early present on the front porch! It was really fun to see the girls open the door and find a box. When it started to meow Mikensie could not figure out what was the noise. When she finally opend the box and the kitty popped out Mikensie jumped about a foot. She was so surprised.

On Christmas morning the kids all had fun opening their presents

By the time we had lunch Kelty had her fill and promptly feel asleep in her highchair.

Only to wake up and have a yummy treat!

On 9-30-07 we went to the Pumpkin patch in Santa Cruz on HWY 1 we had a blast even though the stinging nettle was very pokey while we picked our pumpkins off of the vines.

In loving memory of my stepmother Theresa. We lost her on 10-2-07. She will forever be in our thoughts. Grandma Theresa was very talented and did many projects. She worked with blind veterans at the VA hospital, she knitted wonderful sweaters and table runners. She did wonderful paintings with oil and watercolors. Grandma enjoyed coming over to our house and playing around, dirt bike riding and helping around the house and helping me with Keltys blanket. WE LOVE YOU!

We were able to enjoy going to the fair on Wednesday. We had such a great time Kirk took part of the day off so that he could go with us. The pumpkin in the background is the grandprize winner at 789 pounds. WOW!

Eveyone had so much fun at Grandma's house while we waited for Page and Ash Lee to back from EFY.

we also went to the Weber County Fair where we saw: Horses, pigs, sheep, miniture horses, live duck races and played some games.

These girls are so Silly

Wow was it hot up here. We had it get to 101 yesterday and I found Mikensie and Teagan in their water table trying to cool off. Kelty woke up from her nap and joined in the festivities. They most have forgotten that they have a little kid pool.

This is Murel, she had such a wonderful BBQ for us. Her children came, also grandchildren. The kids has so much fun playing together. (Murel is responsible for my fettish with Creamies Ice Cream, of course only avalible in Utah)

Page and BUBBA ( Page didn't want to go riding at all and was terrified that BUBBA was going to attack her! We explained to her that horeses seldomly attack and she relented after about 30 mins. of telling her it would be alright to ride him.
Our friend, James , who served in our area for most of his mission invited us to see his horses. We had such a fun time playing around. Kelty was a little upset that she could'nt ride though.

Page and Ash Lee went up to BYU Idaho EFY with their friend,Emily. Emily's sister,Lauren (also their friend) was at BYU Utah for the summer session, so Page was very happy to go see Lauren first before going up to Idaho. Page, Ash Lee and Emily got to visit and spend the afternoon free time with Ashley,Jared and Caleb.The girls said that it was so nice meeting new people with the same standards as they have,They didn't want to leave!

Well we thought we would try to create a blog to keep everyone up to date on the happs around here. We are all doing well and some of the kids started school today. Much to Mikensie's dismay. She feels that she should also be in school now. It's hard to wait one more year when your four years old. Teagan is luckly not saying she wants to go to school one of the few things that she is not coping that Mikensie does. Some of the kids can't understand what is so cool about school. Mostly Ash Lee, she has a full day with lots of homework and just started a job at the library as a page. Kelty is now sitting up and trying to crawl. Marshall just wishes that he could play outside all day. Page is starting her senior year doing independent studies.
